Why Eating the Rainbow Matters

Flood your body with antioxidants.

  • Aim to "eat the rainbow" at each meal. Bonus: add turmeric to at least one dish.
  • Journal prompt: Which colors are easiest for you to add? Which are missing most often?

Each color in fruits and vegetables comes from different antioxidants and phytonutrients that support specific systems in your body.

  • Red (tomatoes, strawberries, beets): heart health and circulation.
  • Orange & Yellow (carrots, sweet potatoes, peppers): immune function, eyes, and skin.
  • Green (leafy greens, broccoli, herbs): detox pathways, minerals, and hormone balance.
  • Blue & Purple (blueberries, purple cabbage, grapes): brain health, cellular repair, healthy aging.
  • White & Brown (garlic, onions, mushrooms): immune health and inflammation regulation.

When your plate is mostly beige, you're missing many protective compounds. A colorful plate floods your body with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber that lower inflammation, support digestion, balance blood sugar, and protect cells from everyday stress.
