🌿 The 21-Day Radical Realignment

Social Media and Mental Inflammation

No video added to this lesson yet.

Reduce mental inflammation from over-stimulation.

  • Commit to a 24-hour social media detox.
  • Focus food: Fermented veggies or kombucha for gut-brain support.
  • Journal prompt: What do you notice in your mood, focus, or anxiety levels without scrolling?

Social media exposure can quietly create mental inflammation — overloaded, anxious, frazzled feelings in your brain and nervous system. Scrolling means taking in hundreds of pieces of information in minutes, comparing your life to curated highlight reels, and being pulled into outrage and urgency that may not even be yours.

Too much scrolling could cause:

  • Increased anxiety, FOMO, and self-comparison.
  • Difficulty focusing or feeling present in real life.
  • Sleep disruption from late-night scrolling and blue light.
  • A constant "background stress" your body has to carry.

Reducing or taking a break from social media gives your mind and nervous system a chance to exhale. You create space to hear your own intuition, be present with your food and relationships, lower the constant input keeping your brain in "alert" mode, and notice what actually soothes and nourishes you in real life.
