Grounding your body and mind.
- Walk barefoot outside or sit on the grass/ground if available.
- Focus food: Citrus fruits, walnuts, garlic, beets, and broccoli — foods that support liver health.
- Journal prompt: What are 3 things you feel genuinely grateful for in your body today?
Your body is not separate from nature, it is nature. Your mitochondria (energy powerhouses) respond to natural light, direct contact with the earth, fresh air, and movement — inputs that regulate your circadian rhythm, hormones, mood, and inflammation. Modern life keeps us on screens, in artificial light, and indoors, pulling us away from these natural regulators.
Benefits of grounding & natural light:
- Calms the nervous system and lowers stress.
- Supports more stable energy and better sleep.
- Reduces inflammation and muscle tension.
- Improves mood, focus, and emotional regulation.
How to ground:
- Barefoot on the earth: stand, sit, or walk on grass, soil, or sand for 5–20 minutes.
- Early morning sun-gazing (safely): within the first hour after sunrise, go outside and gently look toward, not directly into, the sun without sunglasses or screens.
- Open-air breaks: step outside during the day, breathe slowly, and notice the colors, sounds, and textures around you.
